WRAP gathers and disperses timely and accurate information to support and validate issues our members have prioritized for work and change. Our ability to influence the federal government is directly linked to increasing public understanding of poverty and homelessness as a human rights issue. In order to do this we need hard facts to legitimize our position in the media and in public hearings. Our research strategies include street outreach questionnaires, surveys, academic literature reviews, Freedom of Information and Public Records Acts requests, and Department of Justice statistical analysis. Research culminates in our campaign reports, art charts, fact sheets, articles, and op-eds. We use research to challenge assumptions and misinformation, identify causes and solutions, force accountability on institutions and decision makers, educate the public, and validate policy recommendations. Without Housing exemplifies our approach to research. |
